Is walking allowed?
Yes! Every year there are a handful of race participants who walk entire time. There are no special race rules for walkers – walkers need to follow the same race rules as any other participant at the race.
Do I have to stay on the course until the end of the race?
No! You can leave the race course any time. There are a few who leave the course after couple of hours however most participants decide to stop once they reach their target distance – marathon, 50 km, 40 miles, 50 miles, double marathon, 100 km.
I am not a fast runner. Will I fit in?
Yes! All speeds are welcome at Mind The Ducks 12 Hour. And since it is a closed loop course nobody knows if you are one your fifth or fiftieth lap.
What is an Ultra Marathon?
An ultramarathon (also called ultra distance) is any sporting event involving running and walking longer than the traditional marathon length of 42.195 kilometres (26.219 mi).
Will there be an aid station?
Yes! The course will feature one fully stocked aid station with great ultra fare throughout the run.
Can I put up my own tent/aid station along the course?
Yes! Anywhere along the loop that you can find room.
I’m still not sure, where can I ask additional questions?
The Mind-The-Ducks Facebook group is the best way to get your questions answered, as it is checked daily by the race director and any number of runners who have run this race before. Or you can email Gil, the race director, at MTD12Hour@gmail.com.
